Basic Reconstructive Surgery Training Workshop COSECSA

Bujumbura Burundi 2025 Mission 2nd Chance

From November 23 to 28, 2025, 2nd Chance conducted a reconstructive surgery workshop at CHUK in Bujumbura, in collaboration with the hospital teams and programme partners.
The mission covered the full cycle of care — consultation, surgery, and post-operative follow-up — delivering essential treatment to 13 patients and training 9 participants from East Africa.

Project for Women

This week at Hamlin Hospital, we are training young surgeons in reconstructive surgery for women.
Together, we heal — and we teach.
Because a woman healed can reclaim her place, her voice, her life.

Basic Reconstructive Surgery Training Workshop

For the second time, we have the opportunity to train surgeons in Lomé. In partnership with the West African College of Surgeons (WACS), this training is a crucial step in developing a network of specialists capable of treating patients with severe injuries and deformities.
