Why It Matters
Over 5 billion people lack access to safe, timely, and affordable surgical and anesthesia care. Among them, millions require reconstructive surgery following trauma, burns, congenital anomalies, and conflict-related injuries. Yet, reconstructive surgery remains underrepresented in global surgical strategies.
This side event will bring together experts, policymakers, and healthcare professionals to discuss:
✅ The integration of reconstructive surgery within WHO’s global surgical policies.
✅ The economic and social impact of reconstructive procedures.
✅ Strategies to strengthen surgical capacity in low-resource settings.
